Madilyn was born in Bonnyville, Alberta and raised across Northern Alberta. She moved to Fort McMurray with her family in September of 2015. She is now a proud member of the McMurray Métis.
As Madilyn grew up, she began to develop a passion for fine arts such as theatre, film, and television. She would ask her parents to stay behind after movies to watch the credits believing that the people who created the movie deserve recognition. After High-School Madilyn pursued an advanced diploma in Film and TV production at Loyalist College. Throughout her three years at college, Madilyn worked as a summer student for the McMurray Métis. She helped film the summer students doing various tasks and worked with Melanie on the Mark of the Métis video addition project.
Madilyn enjoys going to her family cabin on the weekends and relaxing on their boat. She has two lovely dogs named Pepper and Biko: who sometimes make an appearance at the office on Fridays if she plans to head to the cabin after work. She says there is nothing better than roasting marshmallows around the fire surrounded by family.
Madilyn was a bit worried about moving to Fort McMurray and leaving her friends in Edmonton behind. She felt lost for the first few years in Fort McMurray until she became a member of the Métis Local. After getting to know some of the elders and staff at McMurray Métis she has begun to love the community of Fort McMurray.
