McMurray Métis Local 1935 is dedicated to providing opportunities for Members, including opportunities to pursue post-secondary education and training. This includes raising and disbursing funds to support, promote and encourage the educational goals of our Members.

The mandate of the Bursary Committee is to uphold the highest standards in terms of governance and ethics. The committee is responsible for monitoring the structure, composition, performance, and operations of the Bursary Fund.

All Members interested in applying for a bursary are asked to read and ensure they understand all aspects of the bursary program to determine their eligibility. If an applicant has questions, please contact McMurray Métis Local 1935.

The mandate of the Bursary Committee is to assure the that they uphold the highest standards in terms of governance and ethics. The committee is responsible for monitoring the structure, the composition, the performance, and the operations of the Bursary Fund.

INTRODUCTION

The objective of the Bursary Program is to provide financial support to McMurray Metis students to gain access to post-secondary education and to graduate with the skills and competencies needed to pursue individual careers and to contribute to the advancement of Metis self-governance and economic self-reliance. 

The McMurray Metis has adopted this policy and mandate the Bursary Committee to follow the guidelines and procedures as written to ensure fair and objective decisions for all students.

This policy is effective July 16, 2021 and is subject to amendment from time to time based on changes to the post-secondary system and the needs of students. Bursary awards are not intended to cover the full cost of school for any applicant.
