DERRICK TROTTIER

Biography

Derrick has served as a Director on McMurray Métis Local 1935 Council since October 2022 and has called Fort McMurray home since 1997. With a background in Engineering from the University of Alberta, Derrick has enjoyed a successful career supporting Suncor’s operations in the Wood Buffalo region, including Baseplant, Syncrude, Fort Hills and the Insitu Operations. As an active member within the community, he has been on several other community boards and is currently the Treasurer of the Wood Buffalo Wellness Society. Derrick is inspired by McMurray Métis’ dedicated vision to its membership and broader community; he seeks to continue building relationships and advocating for Métis interests, awareness, and growth.
