GARY BOOSTROM

Biography

Gary has served as a Director on the Local Council of McMurray Métis 1935 since 2018. Born in Lac La Biche, he moved to Fort McMurray in the spring of 1965 when his father started working for the Northern Pacific Railroad. Gary raised his three sons in Fort McMurray while working in the oil patch with the International Iron Workers #720. Gary takes immense pride in serving on Local Council and advancing the goals of McMurray Métis. His favourite event is the annual Métis Day festivities; he loves to see Elders and youth come together to celebrate and learn Métis history, culture, and traditions.
