PETER HANSEN

Biography

Peter served as McMurray Métis Local 1935 Council Vice President for eight years prior to election as McMurray Métis President in June 2022. Peter was born in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta, and is deeply proud of his Métis Heritage. Peter owns and operates a trapline in the Birch Mountains and has volunteered in many capacities, including at the Yukon Quest, a 1,000-mile dog team race from Whitehorse to Fairbanks, Alaska. He represents the McMurray Métis through his dedicated service and advocacy for Members. Peter looks forward to collaborating with Local Council and Members to achieve the future goals and objectives of the McMurray Métis.
